The Evolution of Crow's!

Established in 1976.

Crow’s Garage has provided conscientious car care to the drivers of Williamsburg, Virginia since 1976.  James Crow was introduced to the automotive service industry early in his life as his father owned a service station & ran a taxi service.   Hardworking & independent, Jim bought land on Centerville Road in Williamsburg, VA and broke ground for a repair facility & towing service.  At the time Centerville was rural farmland and many thought it an odd location for automotive work.  Jim proved to have great foresight, a man ahead of his time, the Centerville Road of today is teeming with traffic!  In the early 70s, Jim completed work on the building that fronts Centerville and soon after received  a request to rent the building.  Never one to miss an opportunity, Jim leased the building, himself opting to work out of doors to the rear of the property while simultaneously building the structure destined to be Crow's Garage.   The Crow's family was an intrinsic part of the businesses success, his wife worked in the office & his girls remember being at the shop throughout their childhood.  Jim tended the business with a calm demeanor, an infectious smile, natural charisma, integrity, humor, humility and hard work which allowed Crow's to bloom.  Eventually his father joined his business adventure  and later his daughter Wendy, making it a true family affair.   Wendy Crow played a pivotal role in the operation of Crow's Garage, attending to administrative matters with wit and wisdom!  Customers came not only for the quality of automotive care provided but also for the communal atmosphere, many a lunch was enjoyed gathered together in front of the wood stove while stories were exchanged.  The Crow's Garage experience evolved, where customers became family, and continued in that fashion another 32 years!  In 2008, Jack Seiner approached Jim with the auspicious dream of renting a portion of the building to launch his own automotive aspirations.  Jim responded with a job offer which, after some contemplation, Jack wisely accepted.  A special bond formed between the two, Jack a tenacious & talented technician and Jim the seasoned sage role model.  Throughout the years, Jack held onto to the idea of running his own shop.  In 2011 sitting with his attorney Dustin Devore to discuss legal logistics & details, Dustin proposed the bold strategy of asking to buy Crow's Garage.  Jack affirmed that Jim would never part with the business.  Undeterred, Dustin refused to provide further legal guidance until the question had at least been broached.  Thanks to the indefatigable pertinacity of all involved, in 2008 Jim entrusted Jack with the substantial responsibility of carrying on the Crow's tradition!  Humbled & honored, we strive each day to uphold the legacy of such an honor!
